QUINCY (WGEM) -- The Quincy Art Center is offering a scholarship to make sure all kids get an opportunity in art.
The scholarship is available to those 18 and younger who receive either free or reduced lunch, or have a letter of recommendation from a peer or mentor.
Director of Marketing Kelsey Deters said she is proud to play a part in giving more kids access to art classes.
"Just to be able to see the reaction and that creative process happening is really exciting and so to know that that access is there and that no one is left out of that is just a really exciting feeling," Deters said.
The cost of classes can range from a couple of dollars for one session, to a little over $100.
The Quincy Art Center gives out between 130 to 150 scholarships a year.
To apply for the scholarship, contact the Quincy Art Center at (217) 223-5900 or email Elizabeth Swick at firstname.lastname@example.org.
