Severe weather likely Friday

Severe storms will be possible starting in the late afternoon Friday before more widespread severe weather moves into our area during the evening and overnight hours. Severe storms are likely across central and northeast Missouri as well as west-central Illinois Friday evening through the overnight hours. Damaging winds, large hail, and a few tornadoes will be possible with these storms as they track southeast. Stormy weather will continue beyond Friday Night . Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected. Locally heavy rainfall and localized flooding is possible Friday Night-Saturday Night. Be weather aware and especially alert if you have any outdoor plans. There is still some dispute on the timing of the storms and just how long they will last. For now plan on severe weather after 3pm Friday through Saturday at 3am. Saturday's storms will be prolific rainmakers but will likely not be severe.
