HANNIBAL, Mo (WGEM) -- Singing and dancing were on display Monday morning as auditions were held for the performance of "The Most EPIC Birthday Ever."

The show is being produced by Maples Repertory Theatre in Macon, MO in coordination with Hannibal Parks and Recreation and the Hannibal Arts Council.

Two professional directors were helping kids learn the lines, dances and songs. The camp is designed for kids ages 8-18 in an effort to bring fun for those who have a passion in acting, singing or dancing.

The cost for each student was $50. Rehearsals are being held everyday this week from 8AM to noon except Thursday at the band stand in Hannibal Central Park.

The final performance will be at the same location Saturday morning at 10AM. It will be ongoing during the Saturday morning Farmers Market.

Mary Lynne Richards with Hannibal Parks and Recreation says it is a great opportunity for the kids to have fun.

"There's all kinds of camps. There's football camp, soccer camp, science camp... This is just a different kind of camp for if your kids are more interested in theatre or acting or being creative," said Richards.

Organizers said they are still looking for a few more kids to play roles in the Musical. If your kids are interested, you can drop your child off at the band stand at Hannibal Central Park around 8AM. You can register your kids and pay for them at city hall right next to the park.
