PALMYRA, Mo. (WGEM) -- Palmyra police have named a suspect after a woman's body was found in a car in the 100 block of East Jefferson Street just before 11 a.m. Friday.

Police Chief Eddie Bogue said Friday evening that they were looking for Raymond Dean Gum, Jr., a white man, 5’ 10”, 240 lbs. with short brown hair and possible facial hair.

Bogue said Gum was possibly in the Springfield, Illinois, area Friday night and was considered armed and dangerous.

Bogue said Gum was last seen in an older model silver Buick Le Sabre. The possible registration could say Missouri VE3-N7F or Illinois BE99074.

If you know where Gum is, or if you have information on where his car is, police said to call your local authorities.

Assisting the Palmyra Police Department were the Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
