MACOMB (WGEM) -- A Macomb man has been arrested for attempted murder and aggravated domestic battery after he allegedly stabbed a female over 30 times, according to police.

Macomb Police reported they arrested Timothy Wagner, 61, Monday night in the 700 block of Campbell Street after responding to a report of a male and female fighting outside of a residence.

Dispatchers told officers a female was screaming “help me” while on the phone with them.

When officers arrived the female victim was lying on the ground with multiple injuries.

She told the officers that Wagner pulled a knife on her and that she needed to go to the hospital.

Officers said they located the knife lying near the victim.

The victim was transported to the hospital for her injuries and later transferred to a trauma center for additional treatment.

Police said Wagner was on scene and immediately taken into custody by officers.
