N. 48th Street project in Quincy set to start

QUINCY (WGEM) -- Crews will soon begin to resurface a portion of N. 48th Street in Quincy.

This comes after the Adams County Board unanimoulsy approved and awarded the contract to Diamond Construction Company for more than $1 million Tuesday night.

Adams County Board chairman Kent Snider said work will start immediately.

"They wanted to start Monday. But, we have a little bit of paperwork to finish up, but it will start right away," Snider said. "They will start paving on 48th Street from Columbus Road to Maine Street first."

The Adams Couny Board also approved spending $50,000 of American Rescue Plan Act funds on a program that will help people on probation get head-of-household jobs.
