QUINCY (WGEM) -- A home at 304 Elm St. in Quincy caught fire shortly after noon on Wednesday.
Firefighters had the fire out by 1:30 p.m., but continued to work on hotspots within the structure.
They said they also focused their attention on the occupied homes next door so the fire didn't spread.
A neighbor told WGEM News the home had been vacant for a couple of years. She also said she saw someone enter the back of the home about 20 minutes before she heard firefighters arrive.
Firefighters said they believe the fire started in the back of the home, but it is still underinvestigation.
South 3rd between Cherry and Elm was also closed for a short time during the investigation.
Quincy Firefighters said there were no injuries.
