High pressure is right over top of the Tri-States and that will keep the sky clear and wind light tonight. The combination of light wind and cool temps will aid in the development of fog. We expect patchy fog to develop Thursday morning in river valleys and low lying areas. The fog will burn off rather quickly Thursday morning as a result we will have mostly sunny skies for the rest of the day. Even with the sunny skies Thursday will be another cool day. Temperatures are forecast to quickly rise above normal on Friday. A very weak cold front slips across the Tri-States Friday night as a result a few isolated showers may develop. In addition to the isolated showers the cold front will also put a bump in the warming trend with highs on Saturday at near normal levels. Well above normal temperatures will roll right back for Sunday and continue into early next week.
