The cold front that dropped our temperatures is long gone, but its effects will still be felt on this Wednesday. The effect will be cooler than normal temperatures due to the continued winds out of the north.

High pressure is building into the region, which has led to clear sunny skies. It will be another breezy day, with gusts of 20-25 mph being possible. Despite the fact that we'll have more sunshine, daytime highs will still only be in the upper 60s to near 70. So the first day of fall will definitely feel like it. By Wednesday night, the winds will die down and we'll continue with the clear skies. This will allow temperatures to drop very easily, with lows for all of us in the 40s. (For most of us, this is the coolest we've been since May!) That means we'll have a cool start to our Thursday, but daytime highs will be getting a little warmer. Friday will be even warmer yet, but that evening/night I'm expecting another cold front to move through.

Wednesday's Weather Word of The Day: Autumnal Equinox (first day of fall) occurs at 2:20 PM.
