2 Hannibal men arrested after shots were fired at a car

HANNIBAL (WGEM) -- Hannibal Police reported Tuesday two local men had been charged in connection with a shots fired incident in the 1900 block of Market Street on Sunday.

Lieutenant J.M. Grote reported that Johnny Ricks, 46, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm Antone Hoskins, 39, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution.

Grote stated police responded Sunday around 9:15 p.m. and found an unoccupied vehicle that had been shot several times by a man who fled the scene wearing a dark hoodie.

Grote added Ricks, who was the owner of the vehicle, was located nearby in another vehicle as a passenger and arrested after he was found to be a convicted felon and in possession of a firearm.

According to Grote, Hannibal detectives executed a search warrant Monday at the home of Hoskins in the 1900 block of Chestnut.

Grote said a gun was recovered from a vehicle Hoskins had been operating.

Grote added Hoskins was also a convicted felon.

Hannibal Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
